Coloring in the lines?

Here's a real April Fools trick on me. As part of the second billionaire set I'm in, I'm required to get a coloring book page made for my story, for a giveaway prize.

I know they want beautiful artwork, so for me "get" translates into "pay someone else to draw it."

I never really got good a coloring in the lines.

Don't get me wrong--I love a well-colored page. My next door neighbor could color dragons and butterflies that looked ready to leap off the page. Those pictures made my heart sing.

Me? As a kid, I was more into scribbling the brightest colors I could in the general direction of the middle. Later, I took to drawing naughty parts on the models, lol.

What about you? Love to color? What are your favorite types pictures to bring to life?

Check out this great set! 7 stories, 99 pennies.

Lifting his face, he separated them an inch. “This is going to be over must faster than I planned if we don’t stop.”

“Don’t stop, please” Her pupils were large, thinning the golden brown around them, her breathing rapid, and her heartbeat fluttered wildly under his fingers.

“You flame up that fast, Chloe-girl? You weren’t the only one left hot and bothered when we kissed you good night.” His cock was throbbing hard and hot at the idea that she was truly interested in both of them.

“God yes, I went straight to bed after you left.” She rocked her pussy against his thigh, pressing her hip against the ridge his cock made in his sweats.

Christ, I’m going to come before I ever get her naked at this rate.

“Hold that thought, Chloe–girl. Ben is going to want to hear all the details as well.” He let go of her wrists, but only for a moment. Bending, he scooped her up onto his shoulder and headed down the hallway. “Ben! Forget lunch.”

Sam imagined that Ben was planning on concocting something special for Chloe for lunch. By the number of curse words that echoed in the kitchen, Ben wasn’t impressed with being interrupted. “What couldn’t wait ten more—?”

He stopped dead in his tracks as Sam approached, Chloe draped over his shoulder with her ass in the air.

“Ben, help! Sam is going to debauch me in the shower.”

“Oh, I’ll help alright.” Ben’s grin rivaled the Cheshire cat as he stripped his apron off and turned off the burners on the stove. “It’s about fucking time.”

Sam passed the kitchen area and headed for the stairs. Chloe pressed her hands against his back, presumably to talk to Ben behind them.

“I don’t want to ruin lunch, Ben. We could wait and eat whatever it is your making that smells so good.”
Sam smacked his palm down on her ass for that one, enjoying the yelp he elicited from her. “You were the one begging for it, Chloe-girl.”

“She begged?” Ben said from behind them. “I can’t wait to hear that again. Maybe we should tie her down and see how long it takes before she starts.”

“I will not.” Chloe’s denial lacked any determination and Sam understood why.

“She’ll beg for us alright. Tell Ben what you did after we left your place, Chloe.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

He cracked his palm down on her ass again, making her jump, “Don’t lie, Chloe-girl Tell Ben exactly what you did.”

“I played with myself.” The words were quiet and mumbled, sounding completely embarrassed. That was something he’d break her of.

“Louder, princess.” Ben was right behind them now. “I want to hear every illicit detail. Don’t leave anything out.”

“I just played with myself. That’s all.”

With her up on his shoulder, it wasn’t hard to tell this was turning her on. The musky earthy scent of her arousal tickled his nose, making his mouth water for a taste. He caressed her thighs and dipped his fingers under her hem.

“Sam!” she squealed and jerked in his arms hard enough he almost dropped her.

Ben’s deep laugh echoed down the hallway. “Patience is a virtue, Sam. You might want to wait the five seconds it’s going to take to get to the bathroom before doing that again.”

So...are you ready to read more? Kayleigh has you covered. Make sure to stalk...er...follow her. She's a lot of fun. And I'm thrilled we got to do this project together.  Thanks, Kayleigh!

Do You Want to be a Princess?

Hailie Ciomperlik via photopin (license)
Being a princess may seem like a cushy life--I mean, great clothes, sparkly tiaras, and a guy crushing on you so hard he'll chop down a forest of brambles for you (my beloved husband complains mowing the lawn). But there are serious drawbacks.

You have to earn your Happily Ever After.

For some princesses, that means cooking and cleaning for not one but seven guys, or eating bad fruit, or needing a good injury lawyer for a poorly manufactured spinning wheel.

For Cinderella, it means a whole decade of suffering abuse, scrubbing her fingers to the bone, name-calling, dressing in rags and being refused entry to the Prince's ball. Fortunately she has help in the form of a fairy godmother, mice, and a pumpkin.

In my modern retelling, this is no less true. Cin has to go through hell to earn her Prince. But she too has help, from her best friend, a mouse, and a pumpkin.

And the Glass Slipper? Well, you'll have to read Cin Wikkid: April Fools For Love to find out :)

Be sure to read to the end to find out about my book tour! Great prizes.

What about you? Do you want to be a princess?

From award-winning bestselling author Mary Hughes comes a fairytale romance with a twist.

THE WRONGED DAUGHTER
Cinderella hungers to escape from under Widow Wikkid's grinding thumb. But to snare a plum job at Prince Industries, Cin desperately needs her degree, and she can't wrap her mind around tax accounting.

Then scarred but sexy Rafe Montoya ignites her imagination with his brilliant tutoring—and, as they work together in his cozy apartment, he sets her body on fire. She thinks he's the one for her, until he starts pushing her to attend Gideon Prince's marriage-mart ball.

THE HANDSOME PRINCE
Rafe is really Gideon Prince, head of Prince Industries. He must name his bride by his April first birthday or suffer the loss of his family fortune.

Rumors say he's still single because women love his money and looks, not him. Is he lonely or just another duplicitous tycoon?

THE GLASS SLIPPER TEST
Hopefuls flock to Prince's birthday ball, but only the woman who is kind, wise, and generous will win his heart. Is it Cin, or will her stepmother, as she always does, snatch the prize for her own daughters?

And on the night of the ball, when Cin discovers Rafe’s true identity, can she even accept his final test?

Warning: Rags-to-riches fairytale meets the texting generation. Stepsisters who are a blush-brush shy of a full makeup set, and a ball gown built like a tank. Contains material intended for mature audiences. Reader discretion advised.

For anyone who has ever been persecuted or hidden their light under a bushel.

Cin stood outside N183 Downer Street and gazed up at the three-story brick building, stars twinkling around it like sparks of delight. Smiling, she checked the bent, worn card in her hand once more. Not that she needed to, not really. She’d memorized Rafe’s address in the week since seeing him last.
Hell, it’d been seared into her memory the first instant she’d looked at it.

No, the reason she pulled the card out of her jeans this time and all the others was the tiny thrill, the swoop of her stomach, that greeted her seeing the pasteboard was real.

The card was real, Rafe’s apartment was real. It was all real. Her feelings were real and maybe his were real, too.

And she really was here…at Rafe’s apartment.

There were no stepsisters, no stepmothers, no customers, no children playing in the park. Just her and Rafe.

Alone together.

There went that trill of excitement again. She shushed it as she stuck the card in her pocket, reminding herself that he’d invited her here, not so they could kiss again, but to go over mock-hearing procedures.

But a gal could hope.

Rafe buzzed her in with a cheery, “Cin! so glad you could make it.”

His exuberance gave wings to her feet. She skipped double-time up the stairs, her heart tripping almost as fast.

Yes, she was here to study, but they would be alone with each other, could kiss.

Do even more.

Study comes first, she admonished herself. Work hard Cinderella. Be a good girl. Her mother’s teachings resonated down the years, chiding her. With only a month, Cin would need every second of coaching she could get.

But rebellion, for the first time, scratched at her nerves. As she knocked on the door of Rafe’s apartment, she didn’t want to put work first. She wanted to throw away plans and play with him.

The door flew open under her fist, revealing his infectious grin. She grinned back, knowing she must look like an idiot, but not caring.

“I’ve got everything ready.” He extended a hand for her coat as he waved her inside. “Snacks, caffeine, and my tripod’s set up so we can record you—all I have to do is clamp in my smartphone. By the time we’re done, you’re going to knock them dead.”

She handed him her coat. “I’d settle for knocking them impressed.”

As he hung her jacket next to his on a nail doubling as a hook, she stepped inside and looked around the apartment. The studio was what she might be able to afford if her stepmother hadn’t claimed four-fifths of Cin’s paycheck in room and board.

Bowls of chips sat on a low, scarred coffee table along with a cafetière wafting rich mocha scent into the air.

“Rafe, thank you for doing this. The refreshments, but mostly taking the time to coach me. I can’t pay you now, but after I get a real job—”

“Hey.” He put a hand on her shoulder, recalling her attention, and searched her gaze. “I’m not doing this for the money. I’m doing it for you.”

Her heart must’ve catapulted into her eyes because his darkened, pupils dilating. His hands dropped to her waist, holding her steady.

Slowly, so she could have stopped him if she’d wanted to, he bent and pressed his mouth to hers. A brief caress, and another, before he sighed with pleasure and kissed her in earnest.

His lips were so beguiling. She’d waited for this so long. Alone, together…ah, homework could wait.
Cin drank in every sensation, the gentle pressure of his lips, the scent of his skin, the warmth of his breath. The soft sweep of his tongue, tasting of mint.

His hand slid into her hair, cradling her head. It made her feel warm and secure, but when he teased open her lips and his tongue began to explore, the deepening kiss sent shock waves from her head to her toes. Safe yet excited. Like a storm-swept sea, the contradictory feelings rose, crashed, and heightened inside her. She shuddered with them.

Maybe feeling her tremble, he murmured, “Sorry,” against her lips. “We should study.” He pulled away.

“Sure. But first…” Sorry, Mom. With a surge of hot reckless feeling liberating her, she wrapped her arms around his neck, lifted herself onto her toes, and planted one on him.

National Pull My Finger Day!

Easter has passed and all the bunnies are gone and the chocolate highs are still in the air. As another Holiday passed by I began to notice the popping up of a lot of them.

I'm not just talking about the standard ones. Easter, Christmas, Thanksgiving and of course, April Fools Day, (cough, cough).

It's more the random “day” holidays that cover the entire spectrum of events, foods, people, activities. There is basically a day for anything you can think of.
Don't forget to show your love for your FAVORITE holiday!
Use this badge to share the love.

Here's a list of the ones in just April.

National Walk to Work Day - first Friday of month
21 National High Five Day third Thursday
28 Take Your Daughter to Work 4th Thursday
29 Arbor Day  -last Friday of month

Now I know I wasted most of my blog on this list but I think it's funny that there are 365 in a year, (366 days this year). They have so many of these random days that they gang up a few on each day.

I get the National Donut Day, and a few others but come on. Rubber Ducky Day is understood and of course National Cookie day is a must. My point is the holidays are kind of getting way overboard. Starting to lose their specialty. Thank goodness I am not in HR and having to remember all this random chaos.

I like Holidays just as much as the other guy, or gal, but if we are having holidays for everything I want to have some fun.

National Honey-Do-List Burning Day, National Pull-My-Finger Day, National Build A Pillow Fort Day, National Spoil Dad and Do Whatever He Wants Day. I know you all say that's Father's Day but most Dad's still mow the lawn and do the typical chores.

If you could have a special day for yourself, what would you have?

This is a totally different type of buzz and woody…

There’s nothing like hosting a pleasure toy party to broaden one’s horizon. At least that’s what Dana’s experiencing every time she puts her products on the table and starts talking about them.

She’s learning from her customers as much as they’re learning from her. And when she gets the chance to put those lessons into practice? She goes for it, and discovers that she’s a lot more inventive than she ever dreamed.

But Dana may be taking a huge risk, because not everyone is in favor of a good Toy Story.

Don't keep it all "Bottled Up" inside

I have been having a lot of fun with contemporaries. And I couldn't resist trying out another one for April Fool's Day.

Bottled Up is the story of two high school sweethearts who lost touch with each other, but can't seem to drop the feelings they had.

This was a STRETCH for me. LOL. I couldn't run from my own high school experience fast enough. Seriously... there might be skid marks in the road as I burned rubber out of that place. So it was super fun to imagine a world where true love smolders in the wake of a young romance.

I had a blast working on this collection of stories again this year, and I hope I can drag these folks along with me for many more April Fool's Days to come.

Enjoy the following blurb and excerpt from Bottled Up.

A clogged drain. A pretend plumber. An April Fool’s Day to remember.

Good looks don’t last forever, and neither do modeling careers. When Nate’s time in the sun ends, he goes back to school. Trouble is, in order to pay for his last semester he’s going to need to get naked.

When a four month modeling contract took Nate Dallas on an adventure around the world, he was too young to realize he was an idiot to leave his Blue-eyed Betty behind. After one night of passion he let her love letters fade in his pocket instead of fighting for a trip home.

Betty Townsend never forgot about Nate. He’d sent her the world in envelopes filled with sea shells and sand. She saw stars when he kissed her under a sparkling spotlight on stage. And she felt her heart break when he never returned to her.

When Nate shows up at Betty’s door, big wrench in hand, she can’t believe her first love is the one her friend hired to fix the sink.

Once Nate recognizes Betty, stripping is out of the question. So is leaving. He can’t throw this chance away. The heat between them is undeniable, but when Betty finds out her first love is covered in glitter down to his g-string, do they stand a chance at rekindling the love that never really burned out? Or will fate make fools out of them again?

The following is an excerpt from Bottled Up:

Her brain had fried the second she’d realized it was Nate. She’d completely forgotten about the glossy paper with his oily pecs on it hanging over the frozen foods section of her home. The ad was an oldie, but a goodie, and the black sand he was standing on filled one of her bottles. The vitamin supplement wasn’t the reason the VitaBoost ad was pinned up with a magnet. It was a memory.

Nate was damn near naked and holding a huge barbell in front of his…

A laugh came from the kitchen.

“Ang, I gotta go.”

Her friend was sputtering as she ended the call, but it was Betty who was stumbling for words when she walked into the kitchen and found Nate holding the picture of himself.

He cocked his eyebrow at her, and a dimple popped on his left cheek. It was something she’d fantasized about endlessly. But not while he was holding up proof she’d been pining for him after all this time.

“I didn’t even think they printed this anymore.”

They didn’t. She’d found an old magazine at a half price book store and snatched it up when she’d seen his face smoldering out at her.

“This is really embarrassing. It was a motivation pic for me,” she lied. “I’m on a diet…and…could I have that back?” She reached for the magazine page and he pulled it behind his body at an angle that she had no hope of reaching.

Well, she could reach it if she scaled him like a climbing wall. Her eyes dropped to what would be a hell of a foothold before she got her bearings and put her hands on her hips.

“You know you’re attractive.” Betty cleared her throat. “Attractive enough to not bother with me when you made it big and took off around the world.”

“You can’t know how sorry I am that I left things the way I did.” He handed her the picture back. “I thought you might have been keeping it for another reason. It’s not every day I see a picture of myself stuck to my ex’s fridge.”

“Were we together long enough to call it a relationship? Don’t worry about it, Nate. We were kids. Kids grow up, right?” She didn’t have time to feel foolish when he pulled his lips between his teeth. She felt the burn she’d never lost for him start to smolder. She should be mad at herself, but all she could really feel was longing. Remembering the job that had taken him away before they’d had a chance to explore each other, she closed the gap between them. She had to ask: “What would have happened if you hadn’t left?”

Nate’s hand rested on her face. He tilted her chin up and suddenly Betty was back in school. She was performing on stage, and Nate was still her Romeo. Only he didn’t have to leave for another country now. He was really here.

“I didn’t want to leave. By the time they got me back in the states, you were already in college, and…”

She had tried to forget about Nate in college. She’d gone out on dates. But they’d never made her feel the butterflies she’d felt with Nate. No one had her laughing with joy as she read a letter. No one else sent her souvenirs of the world. Now Nate was here, and it should be awkward. Instead his hand touched her and she couldn’t remember why she’d given up. He tucked a stray hair behind her ear and licked his lips. Her stomach fell out of her hoo-hah and flopped around at her feet like a fish out of water.

God, he was gorgeous.

But even with his stunning hazel eyes and adorable dimple, she realized she was keeping him from doing his job.

Betty coughed and stepped back. She ducked out of whatever spell he’d spun around her and waved her arm in the general direction of the sink. “I suppose I should let you get back to work. I promise, there will be no more pictures of yourself to distract you.”

Well…there wouldn’t be after she went to the bathroom and took the other one down.
